President Plum
President Plum
Known for its very large, late ripening plums, President is a European plum that provides fresh fruit at a time when most others have already fruited. Versatile in that it makes for a rich, desert-like fresh eating and culinary plum, President plum has a refreshing sweet taste with a hint of acid. Resistance to bacterial spot and brown knot, we have observed President doing well in colder parts of zone 4 Kalispell. Hardy to -35F, President likely won’t do well in colder places in Montana outside of the warmest valleys west of the divide (Missoula, Flathead, Mission, Bitterroot, etc.)
Must be paired with out other European plums for pollination
Trees are 5-7 ft. tall and grafted onto Lovell semi-dwarf rootstock.
