A seedling selection of Mount Royal, Northern Blue is one of the hardiest european plums out there. We have seen one of its parents, Mount Royal, growing in harsh places east of the divide, including Columbus, MT, where it has seen -42F. We therefore think Mount Royal is hardy to at least -45F.

It’s flavor is smooth, with a great combination between sweet and slight tart skin. Ripens here in Missoula in early September.

There are available in several sizes and we grafted them onto Krymsk 86 rootstock, which is hardy to -45F.
