This is one of our first selections. Old rare and unique plum seedling found on Bruce Benson’s Farm. The mother tree was given to Bruce (who is now in his 80’s) by a Woman in her 80’s over 35 years ago. She grew the tree from seed and we asked Bruce what the fruit tasted like, he said, “it will burst with juiciness and get all over your shirt. Excellent flavor.” When we tried it, we couldn’t have agreed more. The plum is indeed very juicy and has a strong berry flavor to it. Nice sweetness/tartness. Hardy to at least -35F, if not hardier.

These plums are grafted onto Krymsk86 rootstock, which is hardy to -40F.
