Originating in Portugal, C’s red is one of the more hardy figs out there. In Montana, they still need to be either buried, brought in for the winter, (or you simply let the top die back to the roots every year). When fruiting, you’ll find a reddish brown, decently sized fig (a little larger than a golf ball) that has a pretty, deep red flesh. Hardy to zone 6, must be protected or brought in for the winter in MT.
