Hardy Black hails from Canada and has survived down well into the -30’s making it one of the most cold hardy blackberries known. Hardier than Darrow (zone 4), and many other blackberries that are marginal in even zone 5 (Chester), Hardy Black is a solid zone 3. They do have thorns but they produce large, juicy blackberries that have a sweet/tart flavor. Zone 3.
