This is our first year growing Spencer and we have also yet to try the apple. But we were excited when Samantha at Old Blue Moon Orchard in Stevensville was growing it and mentioned that it was a a crisp, sweet apple with a nice kick to it. It’s a cross between McIntosh x Golden Delicious so it is likely hardy to -40F. Good anywhere in the Bitterroot and the warmer valleys west of the divide in Montana. May struggle, similar to how McIntosh has struggled, in placed east of the Divide. Ripens around the same time as McIntosh at Old Blue Moon Orchard, which is third week-end of September depending on the year.

We have grafted these onto the semi-dwarf M26 for Spring 2025. Trees are 2.5-4 ft tall
