Not grown for the quality of its fruit (don’t try because its even worse than Dabinette cider apple for fresh eating), although could be used experimentally in cider. Red Splendor’s striking early reddish-pink foliage acts as a wonderful pollenizer for your other apples and is why we grow it. However, don’t only plant one to pollenize your other trees as they do tend to flower biennially (every other year). Works great to pollenize your earlier flowering apples like Pristine. Hardy to zone 2.
